A dance for 4
Begin with partners next to each other, facing the other pair across the set line.

Take hands with partner, in a double and back, twice.
–
Turn single halfway CW while moving toward neighbor to bump into them from behind, continue to turn single halfway CW to home.
Exchange places with neighbor by slipping CW face to face (shuttle hands), repeat to home. No stop in the middle.

Repeat bump and shuttle sequence but with partner.
–
Side partner. Side neighbor.

First corners cross by R shoulder while second corners turn single CW.
Second corners cross by R shoulder while first corners turn single CW.
Take hands, slipping ring CW to home.
Second corners cross while first corners back up.
First corners cross while second corners turn single.
Take hands, slipping ring CW to home.

Arm R with partner, Arm L with neighbor.

2 hands with neighbor, pousettes CW. Set lines up on beat 4 and in partner’s place on beat 8. Odds lead partners a full cast out of set (CCW).
Repeat pousettes CW. Odds lead partners a full cast out of set (CW) to home. Honor.
Bobbing Joe
A longways dance for 4 – or multiples of 4, arranged as duple minors
Up a double, twice
Set and turn to your partner, twice

Top pair take 2 hands and slips down between Bottom pair while Bottom pair slips up the outside of the set lines (shuttle figure), hands 4 and circle CW halfway to neighbor’s place. Same top pair take 2 hands and slips down to repeat the shuttle sequence. Hands 4 and circle CW halfway to home.

Odds exchange places, passing by R shoulders and theatrically snapping on beat 1.
Evens the same. Odds the same to return home. Evens the same.

Siding, twice.
Set and turn to your partner, twice. End close to partner after the last set and turn.

Set back and forward, turn while casting into neighbor’s place. (Odds turn CCW while Evens turn CW. All turn to face up and continue that turn direction. Also called Eggbeater turns.) Repeat to end at home.

Cross partner by R shoulders, hands 4 and circle halfway to home. Repeat to end at home.

Set and turn, twice.

Odds take hands, back a double, turn CW into place. Evens the same.

Taking hands with partner, leap in (2 beats)
Taking 2 hands with neighbor, leap away from partner to move up/down set (2 beats),
Keeping 2 hands with neighbor, leap back down/up set (2 beats),
Leap back to place, taking R hand with neighbor (2 beats).

R hand to partner, orbit 1-½ times to change places (8 beats, fast skipping)
R hand to neighbor, orbit 1-½ times to change places (8 beats, fast skipping).

Set and turn to partner (8 beats). Repeat crossing sequence.
In final set and turn figure you turn 1-½ times to face away from partner.

Drop hands, back a double with Sail Arms (R arm swings all the way up in front and over on beat 3 to land in partner’s hand on beat 4.
Walk CW to place (4 beats), possible Odd courtesy turn for Even turn single CW.

Take hands with partner, back a double, forward a double, set and turn to neighbor.

Slip (shuttle) past partner with arms straight out to sides, evens in front of odds.
Slip (shuttle) past partner with arms straight out to sides, evens behind odds.
R hand with neighbor, walking around to place.

Evens step forward, head toss/nod, turn single back to pace. Odds skip fast around neighbor by L shoulder, then partner by R shoulder (passing each other by L), end figure taking 2 hands with neighbor.

Pairs move CW to partner’s position by moving across line of dance (leap for 2 beats), up/down line of dance (leap for 2 beats) so all 4 are lined up, continue up/down line of dance (leap for 2 beats), and return across line of dance (leap for 2 beats).
Set and turn to neighbor.

Slip (shuttle) home, evens in front of odds. Half pousette moving with neighbor across line of dance and returning to home position.
Set and turn to neighbor.

All face up, take hands with neighbor. Cast (8 beats) to invert the set, keeping it big.

All face up, take hands with neighbor. Cast (8 beats) to invert the set back, keeping it big.
–
Cross neighbor by R shoulders.
Cross partner by L shoulders with R Sail Back arm,
Odds move to their L as they give their partner a courtesy turn to end in a line of 4.
Honor all together, with hands.
